A late 17th-century Dutch Delftware calabash-shaped bottle vase in tin-glazed Delft earthenware, painted in underglaze cobalt blue. The octagonal body features a continuous Chinoiserie landscape with two oriental figures among trees, rocks, and flowering plants. The flaring neck is decorated with a stylized motif – most likely inspired by one of the Daoist precious gifts – in cobalt blue, linking the neck visually to the body decoration.
No restorations. Minor fritting and chipping to the top rim.
Also available in a different listing: a slightly larger calabash-shaped vase with chinoiserie floral and bird decoration.
Diameter 8,5 cm
