Antique Nove faience dish, Antonibon factory, late 18th century, Bassano, Italy

An 18th century Italian maiolica plate, attributed to the Antonibon manufactory in Nove di Bassano. The plate is shaped with a finely moulded. Painted with flowering plants issuing from rockwork and scattered sprays, blue-edged rim.

This type of decoration is referred to as ‘a blanser’ in the factory inventory records and more recently by as ‘tacchiolo’ in some ceramics literature.
