Very ornate border with cartouches and foliate scrolls.
Polychrome Delftware plates of the 18th century often combined landscape and maritime scenes with decorative borders. Coastal views and ships were popular motifs, reflecting the Netherlands’ maritime culture and trade networks.
Plates like this were intended for ornamental display.
Good condition: regular chipping and some usual wear to the rim.
