Delft, De Porceleyne Bijl – Set of two Antique Delftware garniture vases, 18th century

Set of two Antique Delftware 18th century garniture vases.

Each piece is of hexagonal form and decorated in underglaze blue. The front is molded with a floral cartouche enclosing a peaceful waterside landscape with a fisherman, while the reverse is painted with a stylized branch.

The bases bear mark of the De Porceleyne Bijl, Delft.

Founded in the seventeenth century, De Porceleyne Bijl was among the longest-operating Delft pottery factories and remained active well into the nineteenth century.

Condition: usual wear to the glaze consistent with age and material.
